Acceptable Use Policy.

Last updated: July 29, 2026 · What can and cannot be sold or done on Nxcart.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to every merchant, store, and user of Nxcart (the “Service”). Using the Service to do anything below can lead to suspension or termination.

1. Comply with the law

You must use the Service only for lawful purposes and must comply with all applicable Indian laws, the rules of our payment and logistics partners (including Razorpay), and any export, sanctions, and tax laws that apply to your business.

2. Products & services you may not sell

You may not list, sell, or facilitate the sale of:

  • Illegal goods or services, or anything whose sale is restricted or prohibited under Indian law.
  • Narcotics, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or their parts.
  • Counterfeit, pirated, or IP-infringing goods, or unauthorised replicas.
  • Wildlife, ivory, or other prohibited animal products.
  • Human body parts, organs, or human remains.
  • Sexually explicit content involving minors (illegal), and any non-consensual or exploitative sexual content.
  • Items that promote hatred, violence, terrorism, or discrimination.
  • Prescription drugs sold without authorisation, unapproved medical devices, or unsubstantiated “miracle cure” products.
  • Goods or services prohibited by Razorpay or our other payment/logistics partners (e.g. unregulated financial schemes, gambling/betting where not licensed, certain virtual currencies).
  • Stolen goods, or anything you do not have the legal right to sell.

Some categories are restricted rather than banned and require valid licences or age verification (for example, alcohol, tobacco, fireworks, certain supplements). You are responsible for holding the required licences and meeting all conditions before selling.

3. Things you may not do on the platform

  • Break the law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or violate someone's rights.
  • Send spam, deceptive, or unsolicited messages, or run phishing or fraud.
  • Upload malware, or attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other stores.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or resell the Service except as permitted in the Terms.
  • Misrepresent your identity, impersonate another business, or mislead shoppers about products, prices, or delivery.
  • Use “dark patterns” — hidden or drip-priced charges, forced or pre-ticked consent, false urgency/scarcity, subscription traps, or misleading buttons — as prohibited under the CCPA Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023.
  • Mishandle shopper personal data, or use it for anything beyond fulfilling the order and your lawful, disclosed purposes (see our Privacy Policy and DPA).
  • Abuse AI features to generate unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content.

4. Your responsibility for your store

You are responsible for everything sold and published through your store, for the accuracy of your listings and prices, for fulfilling orders, and for honouring your published returns and refund policy. Nxcart is the technology platform, not the seller.

Where they apply to your products, you must make all mandatory disclosures under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules (as amended in 2026) — including manufacturer/importer details, net quantity, MRP (inclusive of all taxes), consumer-care contact, and Country of Origin. For imported goods, Country of Origin must be displayed and filterable as required (effective 1 July 2026). You are responsible for these disclosures on your listings.

5. Enforcement

If we reasonably believe a store breaches this AUP or the law, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate the account — with notice where practical, and immediately where there is risk of harm, fraud, or legal exposure. Serious or illegal activity may be reported to the authorities and to our payment partners.

6. Reporting & contact

To report a store or content that breaches this policy, email contact@nxcart.io.
